Job summary

Aqua Consultants Ltd is seeking a Senior Estimator to join the Estimating & Cost Intelligence Team at our offices. You will conduct cost planning, prepare estimates at various project stages, and provide cost assurance to clients and contractors daily.

The role involves collaborating across projects, benchmarking costs, developing cost models, attending meetings and site visits, and mentoring junior team members.

Qualifications

• Degree in construction or engineering required.
• Experience in estimating and cost planning for projects.
• Ability to liaise with clients and contractors on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

• Estimate at various project stages using cost models or CESMM.
• Prepare option analyses including CAPEX/OPEX/NPV.
• Develop cost models and cost envelopes for early project stages.

Job description

The role will be based in Aqua Consultants’ Offices, supporting the Estimating & Cost Intelligence Team in the delivery of key frameworks and key projects. It will involve liaising with both clients and contractors on a daily basis, to enable effective management of the projects.

Below Core Duties:

• Estimating at various levels depending on the project stage, high-level using cost models or similar, bottom-up estimating using CESMM or similar.
• Preparation of estimates for optioneering purposes, providing CAPEX OPEX, NPV for options for comparison
• Identification of appropriate costing methodologies.
• Undertake project benchmarking and development of Cost Envelope for a project in the early stages of a project. Preparing Findings Report for issue.
• Provide Cost Assurance exercise on project estimates and contractor submissions. Providing Findings in a Report to be issued to the client.
• Collecting historical project cost data in a standardised approach for analysis
• Supporting the development of cost models for future estimates.
• Attend meetings and undertake site visits where necessary
• Client facing and confident in participation meetings.
• Working across multiple projects for their clients.
• Ability to work with various estimating systems.
• Support the development of junior members of the team.

The Senior Estimator will be expected to be a self-starter in relation to day-to-day tasks expected to manage own workload and upholding the company’s governance and quality assurance process.
