Job summary

Aqua Consultants is seeking a proactive Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team supporting major water utility projects across the North and Midlands. The role is home based with travel to client offices and sites as required.

You will assist with project delivery from inception to completion, act as client liaison, and manage cost reporting, procurement advice, and contract administration using NEC contracts. Travel and client-facing leadership are key to success.

Qualifications

• Experience with NEC3/4 contracts.
• Strong cost management and organisational skills.
• Water industry or wider utilities experience preferred.
• Working towards MRICS / MCICES.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Senior QS in managing projects from inception to completion.
• Act as focal point of contact for the client and build confidence.
• Manage infrastructure projects using NEC contracts.
• Assist with estimating and cost planning; provide procurement advice.
• Support contract administration and cost control; cost reporting.

Job description

Location:Home based but role will cover Aqua clients across the North and the Midlands of England, e.g. Northumbrian Water, Yorkshire Water, United Utilities & Severn Trent Water, so must be willing to commute to client offices and sites as required.

The role will be based either at home / hybrid or at Aqua Consultants' Offices or key client offices, supporting the commercial team of surveyors in the delivery of key frameworks and key projects. It will involve liaising with both clients and contractors on a daily basis, to enable effective management of the projects.

What you'll be doing:

• Assist with Senior QS in managing projects from inception to completion.
• Be the focal point of contact for the client and inspire confidence for with clients.
• Manage infrastructure projects ideally using the NEC form of contract.
• Estimating and cost planning.
• Procurement advice.
• Contract administration and cost control.
• Cost reporting.
• Final account preparation.
• Attend meetings and undertake site visits.
• Client facing and confident in leading meetings.
• Managing and take lead on multiple projects for their clients

Qualifications

Skills and experience:

• NEC3/4 working knowledge
• Project cost management skills including organisational and diligent skills.
• Water Industry or wider utilities experience preferred
• Working towards MRICS / MCICES
