Job summary

Adler and Allan is seeking a Senior Estimator to join its Estimating & Cost Intelligence Team in Manchester. The role focuses on preparing accurate estimates, applying appropriate cost methodologies, and providing cost assurance to clients and contractors.

You will develop cost models, benchmark projects, and work across multiple assignments, while mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to governance and quality assurance processes.

Qualifications

• Construction or Engineering related degree required.
• Experience in estimating across project stages and optioneering.
• Familiarity with cost models and cost assurance processes.

Responsibilities

• Estimate at various levels using cost models or CESMM.
• Prepare estimates with CAPEX/OPEX/NPV for options.
• Develop cost envelopes and benchmarking for early-stage projects.
• Provide cost assurance findings to clients.
• Collect historical cost data for analysis.
• Develop cost models for future estimates.
• Attend meetings and site visits; engage with clients and contractors.
• Support development of junior team members.

Job description

The role will be based in Aqua Consultants’ Offices, supporting the Estimating & Cost Intelligence Team in the delivery of key frameworks and key projects. It will involve liaising with both clients and contractors on a daily basis, to enable effective management of the projects.

Core Duties:

• Estimating at various levels depending on the project stage, high-level using cost models or similar, bottom-up estimating using CESMM or similar.
• Preparation of estimates for optioneering purposes, providing CAPEX OPEX, NPV for options for comparison
• Identification of appropriate costing methodologies.
• Undertake project benchmarking and development of Cost Envelope for a project in the early stages of a project. Preparing Findings Report for issue.
• Provide Cost Assurance exercise on project estimates and contractor submissions. Providing Findings in a Report to be issued to the client.
• Collecting historical project cost data in a standardised approach for analysis
• Supporting the development of cost models for future estimates.
• Attend meetings and undertake site visits where necessary
• Client facing and confident in participation meetings.
• Working across multiple projects for their clients.
• Ability to work with various estimating systems.
• Support the development of junior members of the team.

The Senior Estimator will be expected to be a self-starter in relation to day-to-day tasks expected to manage own workload and upholding the company’s governance and quality assurance process.
