Job description

A leading infrastructure contractor with a strong presence in the UK civil engineering and rail sectors is seeking a Senior Estimator to join their commercial team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering complex and critical infrastructure projects across Scotland.

As a Senior Estimator, you'll be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a wide range of civil engineering projects, with a strong emphasis on rail infrastructure. You'll work closely with the pre-construction, commercial, and delivery teams to ensure winning bids and long-term project success.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for civil engineering and rail projects
Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documents to determine accurate costings
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors for quotations
Attend tender meetings and contribute to bid strategy
Evaluate risk and value management
Provide support during project handover and throughout project delivery phases

Requirements

Proven experience in estimating within the civil engineering or rail infrastructure sectors
Strong understanding of NEC contracts and tender processes
Proficient with estimating software and MS Office Suite
Excellent numerical and analytical skills
Able to work independently and within a team
Relevant qualifications in civil engineering, quantity surveying, or similar
