Job summary

Brainkind is seeking a Senior HR Adviser (Employee Relations) for a 6-month fixed term contract in York with hybrid working. The role provides senior ER expertise to support delivery of the ER service and contribute to People & Culture priorities and organisational change.

You will lead a small ER team, drive early intervention, coach managers, and develop ER policies. This is a high-responsibility role requiring strong employment law knowledge and stakeholder collaboration.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification (CIPD Level 7 or working towards).
• Proven experience at senior ER/HR advisory level with complex casework.
• Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
• Pragmatic, solutions-focused approach to risk and resolution.
• Experience in policy development, change management, and tribunal preparation.
• Experience in supporting or overseeing team members’ performance and development.

Responsibilities

• Support and coordinate a small ER team to ensure excellent ER case management across the organisation.
• Lead on ER priorities and collaborate with People & Culture to achieve goals.
• Drive early intervention and positive resolution, reducing formal processes.
• Coach managers to handle ER matters confidently and effectively.
• Collaborate to deliver ER training, guidance, and support across teams.
• Manage high-risk ER cases, including tribunal preparation and strategic advice.
• Support organisational change projects including restructures, redundancies, and TUPE.
• Develop ER policies to be legally compliant and aligned with objectives.
• Report on case volumes, status, and trends to People & OD Partners by region.
