Mott MacDonald is seeking a Principal Environmental Consultant to lead environmental and sustainability projects across major infrastructure programmes in the UK. You will coordinate multi-disciplinary teams and deliver Environmental Impact Assessments as part of planning applications.

You will mentor junior staff, manage budgets, and liaise with clients, regulators and other stakeholders to integrate sustainability into design and to promote place-based, net-zero outcomes.

Qualifications

• UK EIA knowledge and relevant UK legislation.
• Experience on DCO schemes is beneficial.
• Track record in environmental management for large infrastructure.
• Flexible to spend time away from home base as needed.
• Able to manage own work and that of others within a project team.
• Line management experience is advantageous.
• Commercial awareness and budget management experience.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
• Strong IT skills.
• Self-starting capabilities.

Responsabilités

• Lead and coordinate projects from feasibility through EIA for planning applications.
• Manage project teams, scoping, preparation and delivery of environmental appraisals and assessments.
• Program EIA processes, environmental risk management and co-ordination of specialists.
• Undertake technical checks and approvals of deliverables; conduct project reviews.
• Influence clients, regulators and stakeholders; integrate sustainability into design.
• Mentor junior staff; take on line management duties as needed.
• Assist with fee estimates, proposal writing and business development activities.
