Job summary

Mott MacDonald Group is seeking a Senior Environmental Consultant in the UK to join our Environmental and Sustainability Services team. You will lead multidisciplinary projects from feasibility through Environmental Impact Assessment, coordinating environmental appraisals and deliverables across planning regimes.

You will work with clients, regulators, and design teams to integrate sustainability, manage risks, and drive place-based solutions that support net zero commitments while supervising

Qualifications

• Relevant academic/professional qualifications.
• Chartership through a relevant organisation.
• Demonstrable knowledge of EIA and relevant UK legislation; experience with DCO schemes would be beneficial.
• Proven track record in project and construction environmental management with design teams on large infrastructure projects.
• Flexibility to spend time away from home base as needed.
• Ability to manage own work and that of others within a project team.
• Commercial awareness and budgeting experience.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
• Strong IT skills.
• Excellent self-starting capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate projects from early-stage feasibility and environmental appraisal to full EIA as part of planning applications.
• Prepare and deliver environmental and sustainability deliverables.
• Navigate client, regulator, and stakeholder requirements to address environmental and sustainability concerns.
• Integrate sustainability into design processes and shape place-based solutions for net zero commitments.
• Line-manage less experienced team members and support their development and wellbeing.
