Job summary

Shirley Parsons is partnering with a leading organisation delivering one of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects. This role shapes environmental excellence on a nationally important programme, influencing project success, sustainability and best practice.

You will lead environmental compliance, work with project managers and site teams, conduct audits, build regulator relationships, and mentor advisers to foster continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in an environmental or scientific discipline with experience supporting major construction or infrastructure projects.
• Excellent understanding of Environmental Management Systems and ISO 14001 principles.
• Confident communicator able to engage with site teams, regulators and subcontractors to influence positive environmental performance.
• Proactive problem solver who identifies risks early and implements effective solutions without impacting delivery.
• Ideally IEMA Practitioner with experience across ecology, water management, air quality, noise, waste, pollution prevention or environmental compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental compliance across construction activities and promote sustainable best practice.
• Partner with project managers and site teams to provide practical environmental advice.
• Carry out environmental inspections, audits and performance reporting to ensure consent requirements.
• Build relationships with regulators, clients and stakeholders for positive environmental outcomes.
• Mentor environmental advisors and technicians to foster environmental awareness and continuous improvement.
