Job summary

ALTEN, a global engineering and technology consultancy, is searching for a Senior Project Manager to lead complex engineering programmes in a highly regulated environment. You will coordinate planning, resource management, and governance across multiple concurrent projects, including steel structures and V&V activities.

The role requires 4+ years in engineering project management, strong scheduling skills, and experience with Primavera P6.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years' project management experience within engineering, infrastructure, manufacturing, energy, defence, construction, rail, aerospace, or similar sectors.
• Experience producing and managing detailed project schedules.
• Strong understanding of resource planning and load versus capacity management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and integration of detailed programme plans across multiple engineering projects.
• Own and manage resource planning, including load versus capacity analysis for engineering teams.
• Create and maintain integrated Level 4 schedules, identifying dependencies, interfaces, and critical paths.
• Work closely with engineering and project teams to ensure realistic and achievable delivery plans.
• Support programme governance, reporting, and risk management activities.
• Drive consistency and best practice in project controls, scheduling, and planning processes.
• Challenge assumptions and ensure plans accurately reflect engineering scope and delivery requirements.
• Facilitate collaboration across multiple disciplines to coordinate key project deliverables.
• Monitor programme performance and recommend recovery actions where necessary.
• Provide leadership and guidance on Primavera P6 planning methodologies.
