Job summary

Hyreus, based in Cumbria, is recruiting an Engineering Manager to lead engineering across major power and nuclear infrastructure projects.

You will oversee design interfaces, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and ensure compliance with standards, health and safety, and project requirements. This senior role demands proven leadership in large, regulated environments and a track record of delivering complex civil engineering works on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or senior engineering leader in civil/infrastructure projects.
• Strong background in civil engineering, construction or major infrastructure.
• Experience with Tier One contractors or large, regulated project environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering leadership across project activities and work packages.
• Lead and coordinate engineering teams with design, construction and project management functions.
• Manage engineering deliverables, technical documentation and interfaces.
• Ensure compliance with standards, specifications, legislation and project requirements.
• Coordinate with design consultants, subcontractors and stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain progress.
• Review technical submissions, drawings and calculations for accuracy and feasibility.
• Identify and manage engineering risks and opportunities throughout the lifecycle.
• Support construction methodologies and temporary works development.
• Monitor progress against programme and implement mitigation measures.
• Promote buildability, value engineering and continuous improvement.
• Ensure health, safety, quality and environmental requirements are met.
