Job summary

Hyreus, based in Cumbria, seeks an experienced Design Manager to oversee design activities across the project lifecycle for major civil, power and infrastructure works. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, consultants and subcontractors to ensure deliverables meet technical, contractual, programme, quality and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience leading design management on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Strong ability to coordinate multidisciplinary design teams and stakeholders.
• Understanding of design coordination, technical assurance and construction interfaces.
• Experience in regulated sectors such as power or nuclear is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate design management activities across major civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
• Manage design process from early development through construction and handover.
• Coordinate design teams, consultants and subcontractors to meet programme and specifications.
• Develop and maintain design plans, schedules and change-control processes.
• Monitor progress, identify delays and risks, and support mitigation actions.
• Chair design review meetings and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure interfaces between civil, structural, mechanical and electrical disciplines are well managed.
• Review submissions for compliance with project standards and contractual obligations.
