Job summary

Hyreus is recruiting an experienced Section Engineer for a leading Tier One civil engineering contractor operating in power and nuclear sectors. Based in Wales, the role supports major infrastructure projects with strict regulatory requirements.

You will provide engineering support across designated sections, setting out, coordinating with site teams, reviewing drawings and ensuring works meet design intent and quality standards. A strong background in civils and utilities is essential.

Qualifications

• Has previous experience as a Section Engineer or Site Engineer in civil engineering or infrastructure construction.
• Strong background in major civils projects, ideally in power, nuclear, energy or utilities sectors.
• Experience with Tier One civil contractors or large-scale infrastructure projects is advantageous.
• Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Solid knowledge of setting out, construction methods, engineering controls and site delivery.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and construction documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support across designated sections of civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
• Set out and oversee construction works in line with drawings, specs and project requirements.
• Ensure activities follow design intent, construction methodologies and standards.
• Coordinate with Site Agents, supervisors and subcontractors to support delivery of site activities.
• Review drawings, specs and information to identify potential issues before works commence.
• Maintain accurate engineering records including setting-out information and as-built surveys.
• Support RAMS and quality documentation and inspection requirements.
• Monitor progress and coordinate activities to align with the project programme.
• Escalate technical queries and assist with resolution of design issues.
• Ensure safe systems of work and RAMS are followed.
• Support subcontractor management to meet technical, quality and programme standards.
• Liaise with design teams to resolve queries and coordinate design information.
• Monitor materials, plant and resources for engineering activities.
• Promote high standards of health, safety, environmental compliance and quality.
• Participate in site meetings and engineering coordination meetings.
• Ensure compliance with legislation and project procedures for power and nuclear environments.
