Job summary

Hyreus is recruiting an experienced Risk Manager based in Cumbria for a leading Tier One civil engineering contractor operating in the power and nuclear sectors. The role focuses on identifying, assessing and managing project risks across major civil engineering and infrastructure works, working with project management, engineering, commercial, planning and operations teams to protect delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience in risk management across civil engineering or major infrastructure projects.
• Experience with Tier One contractors or large project environments.
• Strong understanding of risk management principles and processes.
• Experience developing and maintaining risk registers and running workshops.
• Ability to assess impacts on programme, cost, safety and quality.
• Collaborative work with project controls, planning, commercial and engineering teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Commercial awareness and ability to provide practical risk recommendations.
• Proactive and structured approach to identifying and communicating risk.

Responsibilities

• Lead identification, assessment and management of project risks across the full lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain risk registers with owners and actions.
• Facilitate risk workshops with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Assess impact of risks on programme, cost, quality, health & safety and delivery.
• Provide risk reporting, dashboards and analysis to leadership.
• Support integration of risk management into project controls and change management.
• Identify emerging risks and provide early warnings.
• Ensure risk management aligns with policies, procedures and industry best practice.
• Promote proactive risk culture and continuous improvement.
• Maintain accurate risk documentation and clear communication.
