Job summary

Royal Bank of Scotland is seeking a Senior Engineering Lead to design and engineer software with customer experience as the top objective. You will work with architects to define major components of the target architecture and roadmap, while gaining senior stakeholder exposure and strengthening leadership skills.

You will lead significant, complex assignments, coordinate feature teams, and ensure technical journeys support the targets and investor metrics.

Qualifications

Deep expertise in Java software engineering, architecture, and API/microservices design.
Strong track record delivering scalable, resilient solutions within Agile and DevOps environments.
Significant experience leading engineering teams in complex matrix environments.
Knowledge of modern software development, automation, cloud-native solutions, and AI capabilities.

Responsibilities

Define, create and govern engineering and design solutions with end-to-end automation, resilience, security and performance.
Work with platform or feature teams to design and engineer complex software, scripts and tools for bank platforms and services.
Develop architecture models and roadmaps to meet business and technical requirements.
Influence enterprise-level architecture strategy and identify transformational opportunities.
