Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a skilled maintenance engineer to join our Frome site on a 4 days on/4 days off, 12-hour shift pattern. The role involves inspections, CAFEM system entries, PPM sign-offs, breakdown logging and handovers between shifts.

You will also manage spare parts, rota planning, and cover for the Senior Engineer as needed, while upholding health and safety standards and site guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must possess a recognised qualification relevant to the role (e.g. mechanical or electrical C&G).
• Skilled in both Electrical and Mechanical trades: Apprenticeship with indentures preferred.
• Preferred knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, steam systems.

Responsibilities

• Regular daily inspections and meter readings.
• Sign off work orders from the CAFEM System for PPM if required.
• Add breakdown information to the CAFEM System if required.
• Ensure job handover between shifts.
• PPM tasks on equipment with Production Team.
• Ordering of spare parts (where specified) to the prescribed standard. Arranging the shift Rota with the Engineering Manager/Chief Engineer.
• Covering a range of tasks usually undertaken by the Engineering Manager/Chief Engineer in absence.
• Raising status of problems/breakdowns with the wider business.
• Raising remedial work orders using the CAFEM System.
• Dealing with any matters of discipline with site Management.
• Ensuring safety standards are observed and site procedures are followed.
