Job summary

Aldwych Consulting Ltd. is seeking a Senior Engineer to join a major infrastructure project in Portsmouth, UK. The role involves leading site engineering activities, coordinating with subcontractors, and ensuring works align with programme and safety requirements.

Reporting to Project Managers, you will develop and manage RAMS, review ITPs, and maintain records while progressing towards Site Agent or Project Manager roles within civil engineering.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Senior Engineer role within civil engineering
• A valid CSCS card
• A full UK driving licence

Responsibilities

• Managing site engineering teams and subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely and to programme
• Preparing, reviewing, and implementing RAMS prior to works commencing
• Ensuring ITPs are completed, recorded, and maintained to industry standards
• Monitoring site activities to ensure health & safety compliance and company procedures
• Maintaining records including setting out, as-built information, and quality documentation
• Producing and updating short-term and monthly programmes for your section of works

Our client, a well‑established civil engineering contractor, is seeking to appoint a Senior Engineer to work on a major infrastructure project. This role offers a challenging scope of works, excellent exposure to complex engineering, and an opportunity to work on an exciting project. This is a fantastic opportunity to progress your career towards being a Site Agent or Project Manager.

Reporting to Project Managers, you will be responsible for managing a designated section of the works, including:

• Managing site engineering teams and subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely and to programme.
• Preparing, reviewing, and implementing RAMS prior to works commencing.
• Ensuring Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) are completed, recorded, and maintained to industry standards.
• Monitoring site activities to ensure compliance with health & safety requirements and company procedures, resolving any issues promptly.
• Maintaining accurate records, including setting out, as-built information, and quality documentation.
• Producing and updating short-term and monthly programmes for your section of works.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience in a Senior Engineer role within civil engineering
• A valid CSCS card.
• A full UK driving licence.
