William James Recruitment is assisting a London-based Energy & Infrastructure practice in seeking a Senior Associate. The role involves leading energy and infrastructure transactions, advising on M&A, project development and project finance, and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams across the UK and internationally.

Qualifications

• England & Wales qualified Solicitor or overseas qualified with London market experience
• Significant experience in energy-focused practice
• Strong background in energy projects, energy M&A and/or project finance
• Experience advising on complex domestic and cross-border transactions
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and transaction management skills
• Commercially minded with a pragmatic approach to problem solving
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Ability to work autonomously while managing multiple workstreams and deadlines
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities supervising junior team members
• Strong academic credentials, ideally 2:1 or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Advising clients on major energy and infrastructure projects and transactions across the UK and internationally
• Leading workstreams on energy M&A, project development and project finance matters
• Drafting and negotiating key transaction, project and commercial documentation
• Conducting and overseeing complex due diligence exercises
• Advising clients across renewables, nuclear, hydrogen, CCUS, EV infrastructure and data centre projects
• Managing transactions from inception through to completion while coordinating multi-disciplinary teams
• Supporting clients on regulatory, ESG and strategic advisory matters within the energy sector
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships while contributing to business development initiatives
• Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers and trainees within the team
