Albany Beck is seeking an experienced Commodities Middle Office professional to support a leading global bank's Energy Trading Operations in London.

The role covers run and change the bank initiatives, overseeing end-to-end trade lifecycle across physical and financial energy products, with emphasis on risk, controls and process improvement.

Strong leadership, regulatory knowledge (EMIR, MiFID II/MiFIR, REMIT) and ability to mentor staff are essential.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in Commodities Middle Office/Energy Trading Operations, ideally in a global bank.
• Strong knowledge of physical and financial energy products (Oil, Gas, Power).
• Experience managing physical energy settlements (logistics, scheduling, nominations, inventory).
• Familiarity with EMIR, MiFID II/MiFIR and REMIT regulatory requirements.
• Proven record of delivering operational improvements, automation or transformation.
• VP-level or senior leadership experience with stakeholder management.

Responsabilités

• Oversee end-to-end trade lifecycle for physical and financial commodity transactions.
• Provide senior Middle Office support across Energy products (crude, gas, LNG, power).
• Manage physical settlements: inventory, logistics, scheduling, nominations.
• Oversee physical deliveries: vessels, pipelines, terminals, documentation.
• Ensure controls across confirmations, settlements, pricing, data, reconciliations.
• Collaborate with Front Office, Risk, Finance, Technology to resolve issues.
• Oversee OTC and exchange-traded derivatives lifecycle (futures, options).
• Monitor KPIs/KRIs; regulatory reporting and exception resolution.
• Maintain risk and control framework; identify weaknesses and improvements.
• Ensure compliance with UK/European regulatory requirements (EMIR, MiFID II/MiFIR, REMIT).
• Support exchanges/clearing houses (ICE, LME, EEX).
• Lead process improvements and automation initiatives.
• Provide leadership and mentoring to junior team members.
