Job summary

The post is embedded within the Advanced Complex Polyp Service in Cardiff, a tertiary centre for complex polyps within the Bowel Screening Wales programme, and is hosted by Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. It is aimed at senior gastroenterology trainees (ST5+ or equivalent) or post-CCT clinicians who are independently accredited in diagnostic colonoscopy.

The fellowship combines defined service delivery with structured mentoring and structured exposure to advanced therapeutic endoscopy,

Qualifications

• Applicants should demonstrate competence in standard colonoscopic polypectomy.
• Clear interest in advanced lesion assessment and complex polyp management.
• Would suit individuals aiming for future accreditation in bowel cancer screening.

Responsibilities

• Undertake a minimum of three service endoscopy lists per week, with an additional list every alternate week.
• Participate in mentored endoscopy sessions and support the Endotherapy MDT for complex polyp cases.
• Engage in audit, research and quality improvement activities, with at least one project during the placement.
