Job summary

Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust (PHU) is seeking an Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response Lead to provide subject matter leadership across the Acute organisation. The role ensures statutory compliance with the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and NHS EPRR Core Standards, and delivers the Trust EPRR programme in partnership with the Isle of Wight NHS Trust.

Qualifications

• Experience in Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response (EPRR) leadership and governance.
• Strong ability to interpret and implement national EPRR policy locally.
• Excellent risk assessment, incident support and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a specialist team delivering EPRR resilience improvements for PHU.
• Provide senior incident support and preparedness assurance to key decision-makers.
• Ensure compliance with statutory obligations and NHS planning requirements.
• Coordinate with multi-agency partners and Local Resilience Forum stakeholders.
• Oversee business continuity plans, testing, lessons learned and continuous improvement.
• Produce formal EPRR documentation including policies, risk assessments and reports.
