Job summary

Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust seeks a senior leader to head Emergency Planning, Resilience and Response. You will set strategic direction, ensure readiness for major incidents and maintain compliance with national standards, advising Executive Directors and key partners.

You will oversee development of plans, lead training programs, and sustain organisational learning to embed preparedness across the Trust during disruption and high-pressure periods.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification required with specialist training in emergency planning or business continuity.
• Experience in emergency planning, resilience, crisis management or major incident response is essential.
• Evidence of continuing professional development and senior leadership training is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, implementation and assurance of major incident and business continuity plans.
• Ensure compliance with NHS EPRR Core Standards and statutory obligations.
• Advise the Board and senior leaders on EPRR and resilience matters.
• Oversee training, exercising and policy development for EPRR and business continuity.
• Provide expert advice during incidents and periods of organisational pressure.
