Job summary

Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust is seeking an Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response Lead. You will shape and strengthen EPRR arrangements, provide strategic leadership and coordinate with Isle of Wight NHS Trust, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.

The role leads a specialist team, supports on-call resilience, and represents the Trust in key forums, driving forward robust preparedness plans across the organisation and wider healthcare system.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level in relevant subject area or demonstrated equivalent leadership experience in emergency preparedness.
• Level 4 Diploma in Health Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response (DipHEPRR) or equivalent qualification/experience.
• Business continuity qualification.
• Training or teaching qualification.

Responsibilities

• Lead a specialist team driving a programme of resilience and preparedness improvements.
• Provide senior incident support and preparedness assurance to key decision-makers.
• Use risk assessment to inform strategic decisions and risks for the organisation.
• Ensure compliance with statutory obligations and NHS planning requirements.
• Coordinate with multi-agency partners across local and regional forums.
