Job summary

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Emergency Practitioner (Band 7) to join the Emergency Department in Gloucester and Cheltenham. You will work autonomously in urgent care, handle minor injuries and illnesses, and may be a prescriber with patient group directives.

You will use Sunrise EPR and participate in a 24-hour rota to ensure safe, high-quality care. The role requires NMC or HCPC registration, a relevant degree, and experience in acute/ED settings; you will

Qualifications

• Must be registered with the NMC or HCPC and hold a professional registration.
• UK recognised degree in Minor Injury & Illness or Advancing Practice in Clinical Assessment.
• Non-Medical Independent & Supplementary Prescribing would be advantageous.
• Experience in acute or Emergency Department settings.

Responsibilities

• Work as an autonomous practitioner in urgent and unscheduled care within Gloucester and Cheltenham EDs and Night Nurse Led Service.
• Demonstrate advanced clinical expertise, judgement and decision-making for undifferentiated unscheduled care across all ages.
• Be accountable for the total episode of care including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and referral or discharge.
• Provide clinical leadership and support junior staff in decision making during overnight shifts.
