The Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is inviting applications for an Emergency Practitioner (Band 6) to join the Emergency Department. The role involves assessing, treating and discharging or referring patients with minor injuries and illnesses across adults and paediatrics, with access to Sunrise EPR and potential independent prescribing.

The post comprises a 24-hour rota, cross-site working and a fixed-term contract of 12 months to cover maternity leave.

Formación

APICA course or equivalent.
NMC/HCPC registration.
Appropriate experience of working in an ED.
Able to prioritise own workload and that of others as appropriate.
Advanced Life Support Qualification.
Paediatric Life Support Qualification.
Teaching and assessing qualification.

Responsabilidades

The Emergency Practitioner will be registered healthcare professional from a nursing, paramedic or physiotherapy background and will assess, investigate, treat and either refer or discharge patients with minor injuries and illness.
The role includes a 24-hour clinical care rota, being a role model, supporting direct clinical care, and using patient group directives or independent prescribing to administer medications.
