Job summary

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Emergency Practitioner to join the Emergency Department for 34.5 hours per week. The EP will be a registered clinician from nursing, paramedic or physiotherapy backgrounds with experience in minor injuries and/or illness and may be a prescriber or able to use patient group directives.

• APICA course or equivalent.
• NMC/HCPC registration.
• Experience of working in an ED.
• Ability to prioritise own workload.

Responsibilities

• Assess, investigate, treat and refer or discharge patients with minor injuries/illness across adults and paediatrics.
• Use Sunrise EPR, interpret investigations (X-rays, pathology) and perform procedures including fracture reductions and wound care.

Education

APICA course or equivalent

NMC/HCPC registration

Appropriate experience of working in an ED

Able to prioritise own workload
