Job summary

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust invites applications from Emergency Practitioners to join our busy MIU UTC teams in Coventry and Rugby. You will assess, treat and independently discharge adult patients, coordinating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality emergency care.

Requirements include a Level 6 or 7 PG Cert/PG diploma in minor injury/illness with urgent care experience; immunisation/vaccination reports from a UK OH provider or GP are required.

Qualifications

• Hold a Level 6 or 7 PG Cert/PG diploma in minor injury/illness with demonstrable experience in urgent and emergency care.
• Must provide an immunisation and vaccination report from a UK Occupational Health provider or GP.
• See, treat and independently discharge adult patients from MIU/UTC as part of a senior clinical team.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the care of UTC/MIU patients with the multidisciplinary team to ensure effective management.
• Demonstrate specialist skills in minor injury/illness management in line with scope of practice.
• Be accountable for own actions in line with professional conduct and local guidelines.
• Take comprehensive patient history using advanced history taking techniques.
