Job summary

Bodmin Minor Injuries Unit offers a 9-month secondment opportunity for a Band 6 practitioner-led MIU. The service operates 8am–10pm and supports flexible working where possible. The role requires advanced practice in minor illness and paediatrics, with ongoing development for aspiring urgent care practitioners.

You will work 28 hours per week with shifts including evenings and weekends as part of a dynamic MIU team, delivering high-quality care to patients in Bodmin.

Qualifications

• Professional qualification relevant to post.
• Current professional registration – NMC.
• Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations Certificate.
• Post graduate specialist training to degree level in relevant subject area which must incorporate minor illness.
• Substantial post registration practice in MIU, ED/Emergency Care or similar; education and training including mentorship.
• Experience in managing a team/service.

Responsibilities

• Deliver, without supervision, effective assessment and treatment of patients using an evidence-based approach.
• Responsible and accountable for the delivery of patient care in the unit.
