Job summary

EnSilica PLC is seeking an Embedded Software Technical Lead to steer complex embedded projects at our Milton Park (Abingdon) site. The role blends hands-on development with technical leadership, mentoring engineers, and coordinating with ASIC and hardware teams for system-level solutions.

You will lead software architecture on ARM Cortex-A/R/M and DSP platforms, oversee RTOS, bare-metal, and embedded Linux efforts, and drive debugging and bring-up activities using Arm trace techniques.

Qualifications

• Embedded software experience on ARM Cortex-A/R/M and DSP platforms.
• Experience with RTOS, bare-metal, drivers and silicon validation.
• Proficient with GNU ARM Embedded Toolchain and binary tools.
• Strong build and version control experience (CMake, GNU Make, SVN or Git).
• Proven silicon validation and complex system debugging.
• 10+ years in embedded software industry.
• Degree in Electronics, Physics, Computer Science, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead embedded software architecture, design, and implementation on ARM Cortex-A/R/M and DSP platforms.
• Provide technical direction for bare-metal, RTOS, and embedded Linux development.
• Drive debugging and bring-up activities with Arm trace and debug techniques.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in software development.
• Collaborate with ASIC/FPGA hardware teams on co-design of system solutions.
