Job summary

KO2's client seeks an experienced Software Manager to own the software engineering function for control and drive technology solutions. You will lead embedded software design, development and integration, shaping the engineering delivery strategy and setting technical excellence across a growing team of 5–15 engineers.

This leadership role requires strategic and hands-on direction, collaborating with project management, hardware engineering, test, and manufacturing to ensure robust software

Qualifications

• 5+ years managing software and IT teams or complex projects.
• Experience coaching and developing engineering talent.
• Strong capabilities in stakeholder engagement and process optimisation.
• Background in complex enterprise environments with diverse business functions.
• Understanding of aligning software delivery with business strategy.
• Proficiency in vendor management, budgeting and risk assessment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to bridge technical and business teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design and development of embedded software and HMIs for vacuum equipment.
• Guide and manage the software engineering function's capability and standards.
• Define engineering strategies ensuring robust hardware/software integration.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and product quality.
• Act as the software engineering authority on architecture and delivery methods.
