Leonardo Worldwide Corporation in Luton is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to provide technical leadership within critical software components for Electronic Warfare and Future Combat Air programmes.

The ideal candidate will have extensive embedded software engineering experience and strong capabilities in mentoring engineers and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Qualifications

• Several years of embedded software engineering experience in aerospace, defence, or other mission/safety-critical domains.
• Ability to set technical direction and define software architecture and design strategies.
• Experience ensuring compliance with DO-178C standards or equivalent.
• Hands-on delivery of DO-178C software or equivalent, with lifecycle experience from requirements through to certification.

Responsibilities

• Take on pivotal Technical Authority roles within Electronic Warfare and Future Combat Air programmes.
• Ensure coherent integration with systems, hardware, and firmware teams.
• Act as the accountable technical lead during audits and reviews.
