Job summary

Parkside is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Embedded Systems) in West London to lead advanced embedded software projects across the full product lifecycle.

You will design architectures, drive robust C++ development for Linux-based platforms, and collaborate with hardware and systems teams to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions. Strong leadership and Agile experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience developing embedded software applications.
• Strong proficiency in modern C++.
• Experience on Embedded Linux platforms.
• Understanding of software architecture and OO design principles.
• Experience with networked systems and protocols.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with version control and modern practices.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and delivery of embedded software for Linux-based platforms.
• Define software architecture, technical specifications, and system design for complex projects.
• Develop robust, high-performance software using modern C++.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software with hardware and wider system architectures.
• Optimise networked and distributed applications for reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Champion engineering best practices, code quality, and continuous improvement across the development lifecycle.
• Drive testing, validation, troubleshooting, and release activities to deliver production-ready software.
