Job summary

Oxford Instruments Plasma Technology in Severn Beach, Bristol, seeks a Senior Software Engineer (Embedded) to lead the design, development and continuous improvement of software across its product portfolio while remaining hands-on. You will provide technical leadership, mentor engineers and ensure robust, secure software that meets business goals.

Qualifications

• Significant experience developing commercial software products.
• Strong C#, C++ and/or C development skills.
• Experience leading complex technical work and influencing technical direction.
• Experience working on Windows-based applications and real-time control systems.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across different disciplines.
• A degree in Computing, Physics or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Leading the design and development of software for our products and systems.
• Taking ownership of complex software projects and technical challenges from concept through delivery.
• Mentoring software engineers and helping establish best practices across the team.
• Reviewing software designs and implementations to ensure quality, maintainability and security.
