Job summary

Verso Recruitment is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to help deliver a new product from Southampton, Hampshire. The role involves taking software from concept to manufacture and working closely with the engineering team to solve complex technical challenges.

The position offers hybrid working options with a requirement to be on-site three days per week, enabling strong cross-functional collaboration and direct customer interaction when needed.

Qualifications

• Experience taking software design projects from concept to manufacture.
• Strong background in Embedded C/C development.
• Experience with bare metal programming.
• Experience with real time operating systems (RTOS).
• Experience with communication protocols would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of a new product currently being designed for customers.
• Collaborate with the engineering team, quality, projects, procurement, sales and other departments; occasional customer interaction.

Based from a modern Southampton, Hampshire based offices, each project's variety and technical challenge is unique, offering an interesting and evolving way to apply your existing knowledge.

The aim of the role is to support the delivery on a new product currently being designed for their customers.

The culture is collaborative and friendly, with ample opportunity to liaise with the engineering team, quality, projects, procurement, sales, and other departments, with occasional customer interaction.

The successful Senior Embedded Software Engineer will have experience with:

• Experience in taking software design projects from concept to manufacture.
• Strong background in Embedded C/C development.
• Experience with bare metal programming
• Experience with real time operating systems (RTOS)
• Experience with communication protocols would be advantageous
• Proven ability to read, interpret, and debug firmware against hardware schematics

The successful candidate will be offered hybrid working options but would need to commit to 3 days a week on site.
