Job summary

Chapman Tate Associates is recruiting Senior to Principal Embedded Software Engineers in Southampton with hybrid working. You will design and develop embedded software for ARM-based platforms in complex, real-time systems, collaborating with FPGA, electronics and systems teams.

You will own software development activities, mentor engineers and influence software architecture decisions while contributing to high-quality solutions across the lifecycle in defence, aerospace or related industries.

Qualifications

• Extensive embedded software experience on ARM-based platforms.
• Experience with embedded Linux and real-time environments.
• Proven ability to work across hardware, FPGA and software teams.
• Experience in safety-critical or high-reliability contexts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop embedded software using C/C++ for real-time systems.
• Develop software for embedded Linux and real-time environments.
• Support hardware/software integration and system bring-up.
• Debug and troubleshoot complex embedded systems.
• Participate in system verification, validation and architectural reviews.

We're recruiting for Senior to Principal Embedded Software Engineers to join a highly skilled engineering team developing advanced embedded, FPGA and real-time systems within a secure and technology-driven environment.

This is an opportunity to work on complex engineering programmes, contributing to the design and development of mission-critical systems across the full product lifecycle.

As a Senior or Principal Embedded Software Engineer, you'll take ownership of software development activities whilst working closely with FPGA, electronics, systems and verification teams.

Depending on experience, you'll also have the opportunity to provide technical leadership, mentor engineers and influence software architecture decisions.
