Job summary

MRL Consulting Group Ltd. is seeking a Senior/Lead Embedded Linux Software Engineer to lead development of Linux-based software for embedded systems and communications.

The role blends hands-on C/C++ development with technical leadership, mentoring a small team of 3–4 engineers, and collaborating with hardware and platform teams. You will build Linux user-space apps, services, CI/CD pipelines, and APIs for hardware control.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Linux software development experience.
• 3–4 years in technical leadership or mentoring.
• Strong C/C++ in Linux user-space.
• Knowledge of POSIX APIs, sockets and multithreading.
• Experience with Linux system services or applications.
• Experience leading or mentoring small engineering teams.
• Git and CI/CD experience.
• Python scripting for automation/testing.
• Familiarity with embedded Linux and hardware interaction.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of Linux user-space applications and system services.
• Develop C/C++ software for system configuration, monitoring and diagnostics.
• Design APIs and services for hardware control and telemetry.
• Provide technical leadership across software architecture and development.
• Conduct code reviews and design discussions.
• Mentor and support a team of 3–4 embedded software engineers.
• Collaborate with platform and hardware engineering teams.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and development workflows.
