Job Summary
Operating within Linux environments, the Senior Embedded Software Engineer will contribute to both the structural design and detailed implementation of embedded software supporting complex real-time systems. Responsibilities include developing embedded applications, supporting software optimisation, debugging complex technical issues and contributing to the ongoing evolution of an established embedded software platform.
Working closely with software, hardware and system test engineers, the position supports the delivery of new functionality aligned with product development priorities whilst maintaining high standards of software quality, reliability and performance.
Key Responsibilities
Experience & Background
The successful candidate will bring extensive experience in embedded C programming within Linux environments, together with a strong understanding of software development for resource-constrained embedded systems. Experience building multi-threaded and multi-process applications, developing and debugging Linux device drivers, and working within embedded Linux environments will also be important.
They will demonstrate strong debugging capability across software and hardware boundaries, an analytical and structured approach to solving complex technical problems, and the ability to contribute effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams. Attention to detail and a commitment to software quality will also be essential.
