Job summary

SRT Marine Systems plc, a UK-headquartered leader in maritime surveillance, is seeking a Senior Elixir Engineer to help shape the next generation of our web platform. You’ll work on distributed, fault-tolerant systems using Elixir, OTP, Phoenix and LiveView to ingest, process and visualise live data from thousands of assets.

This hybrid role covers Bristol office and remote work, with influence over architecture, deployment and developer tooling.

Qualifications

• Experience with Elixir and OTP in large distributed systems.
• Experience designing and building APIs/backends in Phoenix.
• Familiarity with geospatial data processing and visualization.
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL / PostGIS and real-time telemetry.
• Experience deploying containerised services in cloud/on‑prem environments.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable APIs and distributed services for real‑time data.
• Process live maritime telemetry and geospatial datasets.
• Develop rich LiveView interfaces and dashboards.
• Shape platform architecture, deployment, observability and tooling.
• Collaborate on technical strategy across the platform.
