Job summary

Leonardo UK seeks a seasoned Hardware Engineer to deliver high-performance electronics for Surveillance RADAR systems in Edinburgh. You’ll participate across the full engineering lifecycle from requirements to production transfer, shaping architectures and PCB-level designs while aligning with project teams.

Bring experience in mixed-signal design, FPGA/SoC, and high-speed links; expect a collaborative, governance-aware environment with security screening and a strong emphasis on quality,

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM or equivalent.
• Experience with circuit design and schematic capture.
• Mixed-signal knowledge: ADC/DAC, FPGA/SoC.
• Integrating in-house designs with COTS modules.
• Knowledge of high-speed serial links and power/analog design.
• Hardware, firmware and software integration experience.
• Ability to liaise with component suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Design hardware within Electronics discipline to deliver to production.
• Follow lifecycle processes to ensure best practices.
• Create work packages and manage team capacity.
• Resolve technical and delivery issues per plans.
• Support innovation and knowledge sharing.
• Participate in continuous improvement.
• May supervise Engineers.
• Engage in self-development.
