Job summary

OxTS RD seeks a Senior Electronics Engineer to lead hardware development and embedded software activities across the full lifecycle from feasibility to production release.

You will work within a collaborative team to deliver robust, manufacturable electronics, including digital/analog circuitry and microcontroller systems, while mentoring junior engineers and guiding cross‑functional projects.

Qualifications

• A degree in Electronics Engineering, or a relevant related degree plus experience.
• Strong hardware background with digital and analogue electronics.
• Hands-on experience in hardware design and embedded firmware development.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to the design and development of complex hardware for new and existing products, covering the full product lifecycle from prototype to production.
• Apply DFM/DFA principles and support product approval processes, including EMC and certification requirements.
• Contribute to the implementation of wired and wireless communication technologies, including Ethernet, Wi‑Fi and/or cellular connectivity, supporting both practical implementation and compliance activities.
• Manage and track complex development tasks and projects, working to deadlines and adapting plans to meet delivery objectives.
• Develop embedded firmware for microprocessor-based systems across the full software lifecycle, including requirements capture, design, implementation, testing and release management.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including engineers in navigation, software, test and production, as well as stakeholders in the wider organisation.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
• Contribute constructively to technical discussions, challenging assumptions where appropriate and supporting continuous improvement.
