Job summary

Stannah Group in Andover is seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer to join the Stairlift Engineering department. You will design, develop, and maintain electronic hardware solutions for safety-critical consumer products as part of a collaborative team.

The role is 37 hours per week with hybrid work: three days in the office after probation. You will mentor junior engineers and contribute to life-changing accessibility solutions while delivering reliable hardware for our stairlift products.

Qualifications

  • Experience in the design and development of electrical/electronic systems.
  • PCB design and prototype testing experience is essential.
  • Ability to interpret technical requirements, analyse data, and communicate findings.
  • Experience with safety-critical systems and EMC compliance is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Develop electrical and electronic hardware designs for safety-critical applications.
  • Produce and maintain hardware documentation with full traceability from requirements through to implementation.
  • Verify and validate designs through laboratory testing and support testing activities.
  • Support DFMEA activities and product safety hazard analysis processes.
  • Coach and mentor junior engineers while carrying out peer reviews and sign-off of engineering documentation.

This role will involve designing, developing, and maintaining electronic hardware solutions for safety-critical consumer products. Working as part of a collaborative engineering team, you will play a key role in delivering innovative and reliable hardware solutions that support the continued success of our stairlift products.

As the Senior Electronics Engineer, you will work 37 hours a week, Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:45, Friday 08:00 to 13:00 on a permanent basis. This role offers hybrid working of three days in the office after a successful probation period.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced hardware engineer looking to work on innovative products within a market-leading organisation, while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the development of life-changing accessibility solutions.

To be successful as the Senior Electronics Engineer, it is essential that you have previous experience in the design and development of electrical and electronic systems, including PCB design and prototype testing. Experience with safety-critical systems, motor control, EMC compliance, or SIL2 development environments would be highly desirable.
