Job summary

Advanced Resource Managers Ltd is seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer in Ampthill for a permanent role. You will help shape design and development of mixed electrical/electronic solutions, following a detailed phase-gate process.

The ideal candidate holds an HND/BEng or higher in Electronic/Electrical Engineering, with Windchill/PLM experience and a background in harsh environments product development. A strong emphasis on PLC/PC test equipment and documentation is required.

Qualifications

• Formal Electrical qualification required (HND/BEng or higher).
• Experience with electrical/electronic circuitry including analogue/digital and FPGA techniques.
• Experience with harsh environments product development and EMC considerations.
• Ability to analyze, test, and evaluate circuits and components.
• Windchill or PLM experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Report to Design Team Lead.
• Develop mixed electrical/electronic designs from concept to completion per phase-gate process.
• Develop functional and physical design requirements and integrated architecture.
• Produce technical docs: trade studies, requirements, compliance evidence, test docs.
• Design electrical/electronic sub-assemblies for DC systems.
• Analyze, test and evaluate circuits and harness protection.

Senior Electronics Engineer

As the Senior Electronics Engineer, you will be working alongside a market-leading Defence and Aerospace company who are constantly growing and developing. You will be involved in:

• Reporting to the Design Team Lead
• Take responsibility for elements of the design and development of mixed electrical/electronic solutions from concept to completion following a detailed phase-gate development process
• Facilitate the development of functional and physical design requirements to ensure complete integrated design architecture following a detailed phase-gate development process
• Produce technical documentation to support all activities, from trade studies, requirements documentation, compliance evidence, and test documentation
• Design and develop electrical/electronic sub-assemblies for low and high-power DC systems
• Analyse, test, and evaluate electrical circuits, components, and protection of harnesses

Your skillset & experience:

• Formal Electrical qualification such as HND/BEng
• Design and development of electrical/electronic circuitry (includes analogue, digital, microprocessor, FPGA design techniques, and power electronics).
• Experience of Electrical Hardware Design & Electrical Product Development for Harsh Environments
• Analysis, test, and evaluation of electronic/electrical circuits and components
• Electrical/Electronic circuit simulation and analysis
• EMC and Environmental Awareness at system and circuit level
• Awareness of working to formal Electrical standards (such as Def-Stan / Mil Standards/Automotive/Rail), Safety, and Quality processes
• Ability to support and manage aspects of Assembly, Integration, and Test
• Experience of working with lab test equipment, e.g. debug of Electronic circuits using JTAG, Logic Analysers, DMM, Oscilloscope, and Power supplies
• Experience of Windchill or other Product Lifecycle Management tools
• Experience of Altium, SIMetrix, and LTSpice
