Job summary

Advanced Resource Managers is seeking an Lead Electronics Engineer in the Frome area to join a market-leading Defence and Aerospace company. You will lead design, development and support of mixed electrical/electronic hardware from concept to completion and ensure compliance with phase-gate processes.

Required qualifications include HNC/HND/BEng and hands-on experience with schematic capture, PCB layout and IPC awareness. Proficiency with Altium and Windchill is a plus, as is EMC awareness.

Qualifications

• Formal Electronics qualification (HNC/HND/BEng) is required.
• Experience of schematic capture, PCB layout and IPC awareness essential.
• Experience with Altium and electronics hardware in harsh environments desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and support mixed electrical/electronic solutions from concept to completion.
• Define processes and specifications for electrical/electronic hardware.
• Review supplier capabilities and support source selection.

As the Lead Electronics Engineer, you will be working alongside a market-leading Defence and Aerospace company who are constantly growing and developing. You will be involved in:

• Take responsibility for the design, development, and support of mixed electrical/electronic solutions from concept to completion following a detailed phase-gate development process
• Define processes, specifications, and procedures that support the design and manufacture of the electrical/electronic hardware
• Provide technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection
• Facilitate the development of functional and physical design requirements to ensure complete integrated design architecture
• Design and development of electrical/electronic circuitry (includes, analogue, digital, microprocessor, FPGA design techniques and power electronics)
• Analysis, test and evaluation of electronic/electrical circuits and components
• Electrical/Electronic circuit simulation and analysis
• The ability to produce technical documentation to support all activities, from trade studies, requirements documentation, compliance evidence and test documentation
• Formal Electronic qualification such as HNC/HND/BEng
• Experience of Electronics Hardware Design & Electrical Product Development for Harsh Environments
• Electronic analysis of derating, stress, and tolerance
• Experience of Schematic Capture, PCB Layout and IPC awareness (Preferably Altium)
• EMC Awareness at product and PCB level
• Awareness of Def-Stan/Mil Standards, Safety and Quality processes
• Ability to support and manage aspects of Assembly, Integration, and Test
• Experience of working with lab test equipment, JTAG design, and debug of electronic circuits
• Experience of Windchill or other Product Lifecycle Management tools
