Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Ampthill, Bedfordshire, is seeking a Lead Electronics Engineer for an initial 6-month on-site contract. The role covers design, development and support of mixed electrical/electronic solutions from concept to completion using a phase-gate process.

The candidate will produce technical documentation, lead electrical sub-assembly design for low/high power DC, perform analysis and testing, and work as part of a cross-functional team to meet project milestones.

Qualifications

• Formal Electrical qualification such as HNC/HND/BEng.
• Experience of Electrical Hardware Design & Electrical Product Development for Harsh Environments.
• Electrical analysis of circuit protection, component derating and electrical stress.
• EMC and Environmental Awareness at system and circuit level.
• Awareness of Def-Stan/Mil Standards, Safety and Quality processes.
• Ability to support and manage aspects of Assembly, Integration and Test.
• Experience of working with lab test equipment, e.g. debug of Electrical circuits using DMM, Oscilloscope, Power supplies, Logic and Protocol Analysers .
• Experience of Windchill or other Product Lifecycle Management tool.
• Experience of Altium, Zuken E.3, SIMetrix and LTSpice would advantageous.

About The Role

We are seeking to recruit a

We are seeking to recruit a Lead Electronics Engineer, initially on a 6 month contract basis to be based on-site at our Ampthill, Bedfordshire offices.

Reporting to the Design Team Lead, the candidate is expected to take responsibility for the design, development and support of mixed electrical / electronic solutions from concept to completion following a detailed phase-gate development process.

Facilitate the development of functional and physical design requirements to ensure complete integrated design architecture.

The ability to produce technical documentation to support all activities, from trade studies, requirements documentation, compliance evidence and test documentation.

Design and development of electrical/electronic sub-assemblies for low and high power DC systems.

Analysis, test and evaluation of electrical circuits, components and protection of harnesses.

Strong team player with good written and verbal communication skills. Able to support other areas of the Business which could include planning, procuring, material controls, change control.

Self-managing, driven to get the results needed, robust organisational skills and flexibility in tasks undertaken.
