Job summary

Advanced Resource Managers is seeking an Electronics Engineer to join a market-leading Defence and Aerospace client in the UK. The role involves designing, developing and supporting mixed electrical/electronic solutions from concept to completion, with emphasis on EMC, PCB/IC layout and system integration.

You will work to defined specifications and processes, review supplier capabilities, and ensure design architectures meet functional and physical requirements.

Qualifications

• Formal Electronic Engineering qualification to HNC or higher.
• EMC awareness at product and PCB level.
• Experience in design, development and support of mixed electrical/electronic solutions.
• Familiarity with Schematic Capture, PCB layout and IPC awareness (Altium preferred).
• Understanding of Defence/Aerospace industry standards and security considerations.
• Knowledge of Windchill or similar PLM tools.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the design, development, and support of mixed electrical/electronic solutions from concept to completion.
• Define processes, specifications, and procedures for electrical/electronic hardware design and manufacture.
• Provide technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection.
• Develop functional and physical design requirements for integrated design architecture.
• Design and development of electrical/electronic circuitry (analogue, digital, FPGA, power electronics).
• Analyse, test, and evaluate electronic circuits and components.
• Perform electrical/electronic circuit simulation and analysis.
• Support assembly, integration and test activities.
• Work with lab test equipment, JTAG design, and debug of circuits.
• Experience with Windchill or other PLM tools.

Due to the nature of the work, you will be required to achieve high level MOD security clearance.

You will be involved in:

• Take responsibility for the design, development, and support of mixed electrical/electronic solutions from concept to completion
• Define processes, specifications, and procedures that support the design and manufacture of the electrical/electronic hardware
• Provide technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection
• Facilitate the development of functional and physical design requirements to ensure complete integrated design architecture
• Design and development of electrical/electronic circuitry (includes analogue, digital, microprocessor, FPGA design techniques, and power electronics).
• Analysis, test, and evaluation of electronic/electrical circuits and components
• Electrical/Electronic circuit simulation and analysis
• Formal Electronic qualification such as HNC/HND/BEng
• Experience of Electronics Hardware Design & Electrical Product Development for Harsh Environments
• Electronic analysis of derating, stress, and tolerance
• Experience of Schematic Capture, PCB Layout, and IPC awareness (Preferably Altium)
• EMC Awareness at product and PCB level
• Awareness of Def-Stan/Mil Standards, Safety, and Quality processes
• Ability to support and manage aspects of Assembly, Integration, and Test
• Experience working with lab test equipment, JTAG design, and debug of electronic circuits
• Experience with Windchill or other Product Lifecycle Management tool
