Xstrahl Ltd in Brownhills, West Midlands, is seeking a Mechanical Electrical Design Engineer to join our R&D team. You will lead electrical and electronic design for therapy and research cabinets, from concept through verification, compliance and manufacturing.

Key responsibilities include embedded systems design on ARM with RTOS, motor control modules, power supply topology review, EMC testing, CAD capture and PCB layout, and maintaining design documentation for regulatory review and production.

Qualifikationen

• 7+ years' experience in PCB design including schematic capture, layout, and verification.
• Experience contributing to electrical and electronic hardware designs from requirements through to integration and verification.
• Experience supporting products into manufacturing (desirable).
• Good technical communication skills with ability to explain design decisions to stakeholders.
• Experience in controlled product-development processes in regulated environments including design reviews, risk management and verification evidence.
• Hands-on experience bringing up and debugging new electrical/electronic designs using lab equipment.
• Familiar with industry-standard CAD tools for schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Knowledge of power supply topologies and microcontrollers in electro-mechanical products.

Aufgaben

• Supporting the design and validation of embedded systems based on ARM architectures and RTOS.
• Developing motor control modules from design through integration and verification.
• Designing and reviewing DC/DC and AC/DC power supplies for low- to mid-power applications.
• Supporting product safety and EMC activities, including testing and updates for compliance.
• Using CAD tools to capture schematics and layout PCBs and maintain design documentation for manufacturing.
