Job summary

Xstrahl Ltd in the West Midlands is seeking an Electrical and Electronics Engineer to join our R&D team. You will design and develop electrical and electronic systems for therapy and research cabinet products, from concept through verification and manufacturing.

Reporting to the CTO, you will work with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure compliance with safety and EMC standards, while maintaining thorough design documentation and robust fault-finding methods.

Qualifications

• 7+ years’ experience in PCB design, including schematic capture, layout and verification.
• Experience contributing to electrical and electronic hardware designs, from requirements through to integration and verification.
• Experience supporting products into manufacturing (desirable).
• Familiar with CAD tools: Altium, Cadence or OrCAD.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and validation of embedded systems based on ARM architectures and RTOS.
• Contribute to motor control module development from design to integration and verification.
• Design and review power supply circuits (DC/DC and AC/DC) for low and medium-power applications.
• Support product safety and EMC activities, including testing, debugging and updating designs to meet standards.
• Use CAD tools to capture schematics, layout PCBs, and maintain controlled design documentation for manufacturing and regulatory review.
• Maintain existing electrical designs and diagnose issues reported from the field.
