Job summary

Xstrahl Ltd in the West Midlands is seeking an Electrical and Electronics Engineer to join the R&D team. You will design and validate embedded systems, contribute to motor control modules, and develop power supplies for therapy and research cabinets.

The role requires strong PCB design experience, hands-on hardware skills, and the ability to work within a regulated product development process. Competitive salary and bonus opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• 7+ years’ experience in PCB design, including schematic capture, layout and design verification.
• Experience contributing to electrical hardware designs, from requirements through to verification.
• Experience supporting products into manufacturing (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Support the design and validation of embedded systems based on ARM architectures and real‑time OS.
• Contribute to development of motor control modules from design through integration and verification.
• Design and review power supply circuits (DC/DC and AC/DC) for low/medium power applications.
• Support product safety and EMC activities, including testing and updating designs to meet standards.
• Use CAD tools to capture schematics, layout PCBs, and maintain design documentation for manufacturing/regulatory review.
• Maintain existing electrical designs, debug issues from the field, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
