Job summary

MBDA S.A.S. in Bolton is seeking an Electronic Systems Engineer to lead and support the system-level design, integration, and interconnection of complex electronic systems.

The role offers a salary of circa £52,500–£57,000 and a dynamic hybrid pattern with 2–3 days on-site. Security clearance requirements apply (BPSS) and British citizenship or dual UK national status; you will work within the defence sector and join a team focused on robust engineering, documentation, and collaboration across

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering or Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong experience in system-level electronic design and integration.
• Ability to define equipment architectures, interconnects and interfaces.
• Solid understanding of analogue and digital electronics.
• Ability to read and produce system schematics, wiring diagrams, block diagrams and technical documentation.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience with systems design tools (DOORS, Rhapsody, MATLAB Simulink).
• Experience with power distribution and grounding strategies.
• Knowledge of CAN, Ethernet, HDLC, SPI, I2C, UART.
• Familiarity with EMC/EMI mitigation at system level.
• Experience in regulated industries (defence, aerospace, automotive).
• Experience with SPICE simulators.

Responsibilities

• Lead system-level electronic design and integration.
