Job summary

MBDA is seeking an Electronics Engineer in Bolton to design and develop advanced electronic solutions for MBDA products. You will contribute to design, qualification and certification across the full product lifecycle for land, sea, and air platforms.

The role involves reviewing requirements, creating concept solutions, schematics and data packs, selecting components and COTS, and testing to meet high reliability and harsh environments.

Qualifications

• Degree or HND in electronics engineering or related field.
• Experience developing electronic products across the full lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design, qualification and certification activities across the product lifecycle for Land, Sea, and Air platforms.
• Review requirements and generate concept solutions, schematics and manufacturing data packs.
• Involve in component selection and COTS; design, test and qualify for high reliability and harsh environments.
• Produce technical reports; support investigations and collaboration with manufacturing.

Salary : Circa £42,000-£48_,_000 depending on experience

Location : Bolton

Dynamic (hybrid) working : 3-4 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance : British Citizens Only.

All successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

• We are Electronic Engineering. We are growing, dedicated, and we work as a team to design & develop our advanced electronic solutions for MBDA products.
• Your role as an Electronics Engineer is to develop electronic solutions for cutting-edge systems. This will mainly include; Design, qualification and certification activities across the whole product lifecycle for Land, Sea, and Air platforms
• This role offers various types work, challenges, and a multitude of applications; typically this includes: reviewing requirements; generating a concept solution, schematics, and manufacturing data packs; involvement in component & COTS (commercial off-the-shelf product) selection; design, test, qualify to meet high-reliability & harsh environments; technical report writing; involvement supporting investigations and our colleagues in manufacturing. You can work in our labs and get hands‑on working on bread‑board demonstrators through to flight standard hardware.

What we’re looking for from you:

• We are looking for proactive individuals who are motivated to develop within their Senior Electronics Engineer role;
• Candidates would be ideally degree qualified (electronics engineering, science, physics) or HND equivalent experience, have been involved in development of electronics products, and ideally, have a background in complex electronics and working in a multi‑functional team (e.g. with mechanical, firmware, and software).
• You will have a sound track record in electronic design capability throughout the product life cycle, i.e. early concept through to production; be organised with an eye for detail and a sense of pride in what you deliver.
• Most important for us is that you have the right attitude and a passion to develop - we can offer the training and support you need to enable you to broaden your skills and experience and take steps towards senior roles and onwards.
