Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is seeking an experienced Electronic Design Engineer in Bristol to join a growing team developing energy storage and battery technologies. You will own electronic architecture, circuit design, PCB layout and production support across the full product lifecycle.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years in electronic hardware design, with strong analogue/digital design skills and hands-on experience in PCB bring-up, testing and manufacturability considerations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3+ years of commercial experience in electronic hardware design and development.
• Experience designing PCBs from schematic to layout and manufacture.
• Knowledge of EMC and signal integrity considerations.

Responsibilities

• Design and support analogue and digital circuits for energy storage and battery technology applications.
• Create and maintain PCB schematics and layouts in Altium Designer.
• Select components considering performance, reliability, cost and availability; manage BOMs.
• Prototype assembly, PCB bring-up, testing, validation and debugging.
• Identify root causes of hardware issues and implement corrective actions.
• Apply DFM/DFT and consider manufacturability and EMC.
• Produce technical documentation: schematics, BOMs, test procedures and design reports.
• Collaborate with software/firmware/mechanical teams and suppliers through production.
